Jingili Breakfast Club
We are excited to have our breakfast club up and running this year. All children are able to access toast with spreads and/or fruit to fuel their bodies ready for learning. Many thanks to Coles Northlakes for their ongoing donations of bread and spreads, along with Brumby’s Bakery for our Friday supply and to our parent volunteers who continue to donate their time and goods to supplement our breakfast menu.
There are many benefits for having this initiative at a school including:
- Providing a warm and welcoming space for students when they arrive at school, often encouraging increased attendance and engagement
- All students having access to food to start their learning day, helping with well-being and being ready to learn, removing the barrier to learning when a child is hungry
- Positive relationships being built between peers, staff and volunteers, building our community through morning conversations
- Informal conversations around nutrition, table manners and other life skills
How you can help:
Make donations – baked beans, cereals, yoghurt, oats etc are gratefully accepted.
